What to Expect

A screening consultation is a friendly, informal conversation with one of our experienced clinicians — designed to help you understand whether your child would benefit from a full neurodevelopmental assessment.

We take time to listen to your concerns, explore your child's developmental history, and discuss their current strengths and challenges. Using our clinical expertise and recognised screening frameworks, we'll provide clear guidance on the most appropriate next steps.

Whether you're exploring autism, ADHD, or other neurodevelopmental differences, this consultation gives you the clarity and confidence to move forward — with no pressure, just support.

Who May Benefit

This consultation is ideal if you're wondering whether your child's experiences warrant further assessment:

You've noticed differences in how your child communicates or interacts socially

Teachers have raised concerns about attention, focus, or behaviour at school

Your child seems anxious, overwhelmed, or struggling with everyday tasks

You're wondering if a neurodevelopmental difference might explain their challenges

You want professional guidance before committing to a full assessment

You're looking for reassurance and clarity on whether further steps are needed

If any of these feel familiar, an initial consultation can help you understand what's happening and what to do next.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the screening consultation take?

The consultation typically lasts 50-60 minutes, giving us enough time to explore your concerns thoroughly and provide clear guidance.

Do I need a GP referral?

No, you can book directly with us. We're a private provider offering fast access without the need for a GP referral.

What should I prepare for the consultation?

We'll send you a pre-consultation questionnaire and parental consent policy to sign. We'll need details about your child'd current doctor and any medication they are on. It will also be helpful to think about your child's development, any concerns you have, and examples of challenges they may be facing.

Will my child need to be present?

For younger children under 13, we meet with just the parents (or carers) duirng this session. For older children it is optiional.

What happens if a full assessment isn't needed?

That's perfectly fine! We'll provide reassurance, practical strategies, and signpost you to other support if appropriate. The consultation is valuable either way.

Will you share information with my child's school?

Only with your explicit consent. We can provide a summary letter if you'd like to share the outcome with school or other professionals.
